Our co-founder — a master mariner — spent two decades in shipping, years of them in command, and has since led a maritime education institution in Coimbatore. He has signed on crews, prepared vessels for audits, and trained thousands of officers. He knows exactly how much of a shipping company's day disappears into verifying certificates, searching manuals, and retyping reports.
Our other co-founder — a machine-learning engineer — has spent a decade building AI and machine-learning systems in production. He has watched AI transform other industries while shipping still photocopied COCs.
They compared notes and found the same conclusion from both sides: the problem was never that shipping people resist technology. It was that no one had built technology that respects how shipping actually works.
